Research System Architecture

WS Musings behaves as a governed research compiler: one versioned substrate supports evidence-led research objects, bounded analytical views, local research workflow, and reproducible public outputs.

One substrate, several bounded consumers

  1. 01

    Governed inputs

Sources, issue records, evidence objects, stakeholder identities, and relationship semantics remain independently addressable.

  2. 02

    Deterministic transformations

Observatory counts, K=2–7 intersections, Decision Lens comparisons, and the Lighthouse compiler operate on declared stable-ID inputs.

  3. 03

    Canonical Research Object

One versioned object keeps sourced propositions, calculated views, explicit gaps, provenance, and export identities separate.

  4. 04

    Research surfaces

The web route, local Workspace, Brief Builder, Open Data, citations, and exports consume the same governed object under explicit contracts.

  5. 05

    Reproducibility controls

The architecture manifest, BOM, lineage, build fingerprint, impact analysis, and qualification harness make drift inspectable and fail closed.

Interpretation. Arrows represent declared data or consumer dependencies. They indicate potential propagation, not proof that a semantic output changed merely because a generator reran.

18 system-defining components

The inventory stays at the architectural level; it does not duplicate the repository file tree or every helper function.

Sourced, calculated, and user-local remain different things

SOURCED

Evidence-backed material keeps evidence/source identity, locator, status, verification scope, and limitations.

CALCULATED

Counts, intersections, and comparisons keep methods, input scope, denominators where applicable, and non-exhaustive boundaries.

USER-LOCAL

Notes, collections, and saved analyses stay in the browser and are excluded from public generated artifacts.

Inspect 10 contract boundaries · Inspect null/unknown semantics · Inspect the provenance contract

The Lighthouse object through the system

research-object:v733:latinidad-worker-power resolves to 1 evidence object, 3 stakeholders, 3 governed relationships, three analytical consumers, a local Workspace/Brief path, a static API, and three public export forms plus canonical JSON.

Rebuild and detect drift

The reproducibility manifest specifies bounded toolchain requirements, generation and validation commands, expected artifact hashes, and deterministic exceptions without credentials or machine-specific paths.
